Cutting Down On Grocery Trips

For the last few years, I have shopped at King Soopers and Sunflower Market on a weekly basis.  You all know how much I love Sunflower Market… Here’s the rationale for going to 2 places every time – I’d get my pre-packaged stuff at King Soopers and my produce at Sunflower.  It seemed to make perfect sense.  Since Sunflower is a cleverly disguised “health food store”, the prepackaged goods are pretty pricey. DIY Trailmix

I know I’ve spoken of my love of Sun Flower Market in the past, so I won’t drone on and on and on about how great this grocery store is.  I’ll just say it once…It’s amazing! One thing that I’ve grown to love about SF is that they have bulk bins.  They have everything available in these bins – sugar, flour, pasta, soup mix, nuts, fruits, candies, coffee, and on and on.  The last time I needed flour, I bought $.50 worth instead of buying an entire bag for $2.  Waste not, want not. Wednesday’s Song and Dance

Wednesday night is grocery night around these parts.  It’s been the routine for years now.  The Mister has Wednesday nights off and it happens to be Sunflower Market’s double ad day.  What is double ad day, you ask?  It means that last week’s and this week’s sales ads are both valid.    What does that mean?  More stuff is on sale!
