Yesterday I was in the checkout line at Sprouts.  I wasn’t paying much attention to the conversation between the check out guy and the customer in front of me until I heard check out guy say “I love this bread!”.  I took notice of what kind of bread he was referring to.  It was a great bread – Oroweat Oatnut.  Yum! Do You Come Here Often?

When I first started this spending fast, I discovered the bread thrift store.   I have passed it on my way home for years now and never really thought much of it.  Once in a while I would look at it as I passed and think “a bread thrift store?  That’s weird…”  When I think of ‘thrift stores’ I think of Good Will, Salvation Army and ARC – you know, other people’s junk that turn into my treasures.  So putting the word bread in front of ‘thrift store’ didn’t seem to make any sense.  One day I decided to go in … Keep on reading —->

All Those Butts!

You know the heels of bread loaves (or the butts, as I call them)? I don’t know about you, but I’m generally not a fan of eating them in a sandwich.  It’s just not right. I started saving them though.  You know – waste not, want not… I’ve come up with a couple uses for them so far.  I’d love to hear if anyone else has a creative way to use the bread butts!
